The Trijillo Family

I got a chance to visit with Valentene and Cynthia Trijillo today at what used to be there home on Dixie road. They had an incredible story to tell of the tornado. Valentene had just came home seconds before the tornado hit. He and Cynthia took cover as the tornado ripped through there house. As soon as the noise was gone they got up and assessed the damage. They went into the living room and found half of there house gone and belongings gone, including their cockatoo "Sunny." They went outside to and found their car Valentine had just came home in tossed about fifteen feet away from the driveway, with a 2x6 stabbed through the side door. As they started digging in the rubble they actually found their bird cage buried and badly damaged. However, Sunny was safe and sound, and was whistling like crazy. He had been sucked completely out of the house. When I spoke with Cynthia I asked what they needed, but looking around I could tell the list was probably pretty big. They were actually renting this home, and I found out that they don't have any renters insurance. Their Bed is gone, along with their computer and desk. Cynthia still has a sense of humor as she showed me what used to be there office she said they were now thinking of either making that room a sun room or a patio room, but they weren't exactly sure yet. Some of their more immediate needs are going to be prayer's, boxes, trash bags, clean-up labor, a bed, and a vehicle. Unfortunately Cynthia lost her job two months ago and they could not afford to keep the insurance current on their vehicle. Take a look at the pictures and you will see for yourself the damage that took place to their car. Please keep this family in your prayers because they could use it. And please be praying as to how we can serve this family.
